To address this issue, a smart animal detection and alert system is proposed using IoT and sensor-based technology. The system uses IR, ultrasonic, or motion sensors installed along railway tracks to detect the presence of animals. When an animal is detected, the system activates buzzer alarms, flashing lights, or vibration-based deterrents to scare animals away from the tracks. Simultaneously, a microcontroller processes the signal and sends a GSM or IoT-based alert to the nearest railway station or the train driver to slow down or stop. The system can work continuously and can be powered through solar energy, making it suitable for remote areas. This solution helps protect wildlife, prevent accidents, and ensures safer railway transport.
Sensors such as IR or ultrasonic are placed on both sides of the railway track to monitor for any animal movement. When an animal crosses the detection range, the sensor sends a signal to a microcontroller (like Arduino or NodeMCU). The controller then immediately activates sound and light alarms to alert and scare the animal.
